GTA 6 System Requirements: Will It Run?
By Nick Anderson No Comments 6 minutes
GTA 6 is turning out to be a next-gen game and benchmark for the gaming industry. The community has been abuzz since September 2023, and the speculation mill is turning in full force. We’ve got rumors about maps, characters, stories, and the ever-argued-upon GTA 6 system requirements.
From the trailer alone, we know that GTA 6 is a beefy game that will take a lot of resources. The graphics are unreal, and we know for sure that it will take a lot of processing power to get it all viewed. The game also has better draw distances, which means smoother gameplay but a bigger drain on resources.
Note: While the game might be a bit heavy handed, you can bet it will run out as soon as it releases. Get ahead of the curve with FastestVPN’s high-speed US servers to get your hands on GTA 6 when it launches. Our servers give you the freedom to shop, game, and stream without borders.
What System Will GTA 6 Be On?
Going by what we know from the grapevine, GTA 6 is initially going to be available for next generation consoles only. We are now talking about PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While things look grim for PC gamers, it may not be as bad as it seems.
If there is something history has taught us about Rockstar, it’s that they like to make us wait for a bit before they release that PC version, we all adore so much. Remember GTA 5? Yeah, it took a while and we had to sit idle for some time, but when it came to the PC, it was simply amazing.
Therefore, to satisfy the client who asked the most frequently asked question of ‘’what system is GTA 6 on?” For now, we’re seeing PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in the crystal globe. PC might gain the upgrade at a later point. It seems that once again dedicated console owners of previous generation devices might need to start thinking about how to fund the purchase of a new console.
GTA 6 System Requirements: What to Expect
Let me remind you, people, it is all just guesswork, assuming the fact that most of the movies at this point are copied from the best industry trends, and the miracle of the moving trailers. Rockstar has kept quiet on formal specs, however, to get in on our detective mode and give some hindsight.
We’re basing these requirements on the specs of XBox Series X/S and PS 5. The minimum and recommended requirements could be different from what we are assuming.
GTA 6 Minimum System Requirements
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (those processors that offer a good balance between power and cost)
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: 6GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or 8GB AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
- Storage: 150GB SSD (yeah, this game’s going to be heavy)
Oh, don’t look so serious, now I know what you are thinking “Minimum? That’s already pretty beefy!” GTA 6 appears to be more technically orientated than a Swiss Army knife.
We are looking at a game that takes open world gaming to a whole different level. The GTA 6 map is extensive and you’ll need a whole lot of power to run it.
GTA 6 Recommended System Requirements
If you desire to get the best of GTA 6, you probably should raise your sights a notch higher. Here’s what I’m guessing for recommended specs:
- CPU: It is okay to go with Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- RAM: 32 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB
- Storage: 150 GB
Yeah, I know, it’s all sounding a bit like a flight to the moon. But hey, if you are willing to ride through Vice City, while playing as your favorite GTA 6 characters, then you’ve got to pay for it.
GTA 6 Download: Preparing for Launch Day
It is now time that I give you a heads up about the GTA 6 download. We don’t have the exact file size yet, but I’d say that we’re dealing with a very large download here. GTA 5 was hovering around the 100 GB mark with all the updates released and games only continue to grow from here.
My advice? Better start freeing some space in your hard drive now. Some of you may even thinking about buying a new SSD if you do not have one already installed. Believe it or not, your loading times will thank you.
And for the love of all that is holy in the gaming world, ensure your bandwidth is good enough before you get onto the game. More often than not, you are eagerly waiting to download a huge game on the official GTA 6 release date with your connection slower than a turtle on a beach vacation.
GTA 6 Online: Multiplayer Requirements and Specs
If Grand Theft Auto 5’s online was great, then GTA 6 online will be a whole decade better. But what can we expect? First of all, I’ll take my hat off and say that I expect GTA 6 Online to be closer to the single-player mode. We’ll have more dynamic maps, a larger number of people engaged in one game session, and possible cooperation between platforms.
A guy can dream, right? But here’s the rub, all those fabulous GTA 6 vehicles and gameplay is going to need a hell of a lot of oomph to run. So remember, when fulfilling those system requirements, there may need to be a little more bite to fully appreciate the online environment. You’ll definitely need a major improvement to your bandwidth.
GTA 5 has the following recommended requirements: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHz or AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHz, RAM 8 GB, NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB or AMD HD 7870 2GB, Video RAM 2 GB, PIXEL SHADER 5.0, VERTEX SHADER 5.0, Windows 10 64 Bit, Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, and 72 GB of available Hard Disk Space. The sound card should be DirectX 10 compatible and the game should be calibrated to your specific system. While there are no official releases about GTA 6 system requirements, we do know the game is heavier than GTA 5. GTA 6 system requirements will probably be closer to Intel Core i7 8700K/AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, Windows 10/11, 8GB RAM, DirectX Version 12, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti/AMD Radeon RX5700XT, and 150GB available SSD. These requirements are based on the consoles XBox Series X/S and Play Station 5. No, GTA 6 will not run-on low-end PCs that are lower than Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and 6GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. Even on the basic settings, GTA 6 needs a heavy set up to keep rolling smoothly. We do not recommend running the game on a low-end PC. GTA 6 will mostly likely be around 150 GB, because GTA 5 was around 100 GB. Considering the previous size of GTA 5, Grand Theft Auto 6 should be at least that big. Some of the new DLCs or features might require a few extra GBs of space. There have been no official updates about GTA 6 system configuration for PCs. However, considering the specs of XBox Series X and PS5, we can assume the game will require a core i7 and 32 GB of RAM to run smoothly. Other than that we can only surmise and speculate about the facts of the requirements. FAQs - GTA 6 System Requirements
