Driver of the Day: Oliver Bearman

Mexican Grand Prix: REPORT

With Lando Norris occupying the Pole for the Mexican GP, it was only a matter of Turn 1 to make or break things for him, from the opponents, especially from Max Verstappen. However, once he took flight, no one was able to catch him throughout the 71 laps at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Here are some of the highlights of the race from October 26:

Norris Dominates for a Landmark Win

Lando Norris delivered a flawless performance, taking the win from pole and leading every lap of the Mexican Grand Prix. This was his 10th career victory, and it handed him the lead in the driver’s championship, ahead of his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri by just one point. Norris managed a perfect launch, quickly pulling out a lead and never looking back, crossing the line more than 30 seconds ahead of his rivals, a record set for this year’s highest gap between a winner and the runner-up.

Leclerc Holds Off Verstappen in Tight Finish

Charles Leclerc put in one of his best defensive drives of the season, holding back Max Verstappen in the closing laps. Verstappen closed in hard after a late Virtual Safety Car, but Leclerc kept his cool and secured second place for Ferrari by less than a second. Verstappen finished third, collecting critical points for his championship campaign.

Standout Performance: Oliver Bearman

Young Oliver Bearman of Haas delivered a career-best result, surviving constant pressure from Oscar Piastri and even overtaking world champ Verstappen during the race. Bearman fended off challenges to finish an impressive fourth, signaling his growing talent in Formula 1.

Upcoming Grand Prix

The Formula 1 season heads to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the next Grand Prix. The points gap at the top is as tight as ever, keeping both fans and teams on their toes for the upcoming rounds.

The 2024 season in Formula 1 delivered one of the all-time great Grand Prixs in Brazil at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, with Max Verstappen putting in one of the finest drives ever seen in rainy conditions. He started from P17 on the grid and ended up winning the race.

With the championship battle getting enticing, would we see another top Formula 1 race in Sao Paulo?
