Both teams will now face off against each other at Wembley next month, which will crown a new winner this year, as Newcastle got knocked out in the semis.

First Leg

The second leg of the Arsenal vs Chelsea cup tie was a game of Arsenal trying to get the better of Chelsea, and Chelsea trying to neutralize any threat that Arsenal possesses. The only goal of the game came in extra time, with ex-Chelsea star Kai Havertz netting in the 90+7th minute after a perfect counter

First Leg
The first half between Newcastle and City at St. James Park was goalless as both teams went into their dressing rooms focused on making an impact in the second half. It was Antoine Semenyo, the January signing for City, who impressed again for the Manchester club, netting the first goal of the night in the 53rd minute.
To have all the flair on the pitch, City boss Pep Guardiola subbed in Rayan Cherki in the 77th minute of the game for Jeremy Doku. He was on the scoresheet again, 22 odd minutes later, burying the game for City. Tijani Reijnders found the net for City’s 3rd on the night in the 32nd minute of the game, as City took a 5 goal lead against Newcastle. Only Newcastle’s goal of the night came from Anthony Elanga in the 62nd minute.

Both Arsenal and Man City will be facing each other for the Cup final in March at Wembley. On one hand is Pep Guardiola, yet to lose a Cup Final in his career. On the other hand is Mikel Arteta, who hasn’t lost a Cup final as a player or a manager.
