PBC has announced a welterweight unification bout between none other than Errol Spence and Danny Garcia! The fight had originally been scheduled to take place on 21st November, however, it was recently moved forward to 5th December.
With more and more fights being held with the public allowed inside the arena, PBC decided to move the Pay Per View match to December. The venue was also updated from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles to the AT&T Stadium.
Tom Brown is excited to see Spence play near his hometown, according to him every time Spence is close to home- the match is an incredible success! “Every time Spence fights in front of his hometown fans, it is an unforgettable and energetic evening,” president of TGB Promotions Tom Brown told ESPN’s, Steve Kim. “We’re excited to be able to bring those fans this great matchup.”
Spence will be making his comeback to boxing after his major car crash in 2019, which landed him in the extensive care unit. He was convicted of drunk driving in Texas, however, Spence managed to avoid jail time and landed on probation.
Now Spence has finally put his titles and undefeated record on the line against Danny Garcia. Former WBC welterweight champion, Danny Garcia, has recently won his last two fights and is in full form to come at Errol Spence.
“This matchup is a mega-fight unification bout,” Garcia said. “It’s my opportunity to reclaim my spot at the top in this division and become a five-time world champion. Training and sparring have been going really well. I’m extremely prepared for this already, and it can’t get here soon enough.”
Similarly, Spence has also expressed excitement and optimism for the upcoming fight, “It means even more because I’m going up against a great champion in Danny Garcia,” Spence said. “I know people are looking out to see if I’ve lost a step or won’t be at my best, but I’m 100 percent focused, and everything is on point in training camp.”
